1. Who we are
This website (byslicks.com) is operated by Slicks, Design Studio, based in the Netherlands (CoC: 62354191). For any questions about this policy or your personal data, contact: legal@byslicks.com.
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have. It applies to byslicks.com. It does not cover data shared with us separately (e.g. in a project brief, invoice or contract). That is governed by our general terms.
3. What data we collect
a) Data collected automatically via cookies and similar technologies:
Functional cookies: needed for the site to work properly (e.g. remembering your cookie preference). No consent required.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics): used to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, time on site, general location, device/browser type). Data is anonymized or aggregated where possible.
Marketing cookies (Meta Pixel): planned, not yet active. Once live, this will be used to measure and improve the effectiveness of ads run through Meta (Facebook/Instagram).
Analytics and marketing cookies are only placed with your consent, given via the cookie banner on your first visit. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Section 8).
b) Data you provide directly, if you contact us by email or a contact form: your name, email address, and the content of your message.
4. Why we process this data, and our legal basis
Functional cookies: legitimate interest (the site cannot function properly without them).
Analytics cookies: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Marketing/advertising cookies: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Responding to inquiries: legitimate interest / performance of pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR).
5. Third parties we share data with
Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics): processes analytics data on our behalf. Google may transfer data outside the EEA; Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. See Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Meta Pixel): once active, will process advertising data on our behalf. See Meta’s privacy policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy
Framer: our website hosting/CMS provider, processes data as needed to serve this website.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
6. How long we keep your data
Analytics data: retained for up to 14 months (Google Analytics default), then automatically deleted or anonymized.
Email correspondence: kept for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your inquiry or maintain a business relationship, and afterwards in line with Dutch tax retention obligations (7 years) where correspondence relates to an invoiced project.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR (AVG), you have the right to:
access the personal data we hold about you;
request correction of inaccurate data;
request deletion of your data;
restrict or object to processing;
request data portability;
withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal).
To exercise any of these rights, contact legal@byslicks.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
8. Managing cookies
You can manage or withdraw your cookie consent at any time via the cookie settings link on this website, or by adjusting your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking functional cookies may affect how the site works.
9. Security
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add new tools like Meta Pixel. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
